Andrew C. & Sarah Keith Scott Family

ANDREW C. "BLIND ANDREW" SCOTT s/o William Liddell & Nancy Scott b. 18 Mar 1817 Orange co. Indiana d. 27 Mar 1894 Daviess co. Missouri m. 16 Mar 1843 Dewitt co. Ill. Sarah G. Scott d/o John W. II & Mary Keith Scott b. 29 May 1825 Jackson co. Tennessee d. 4 Nov 1894 Daviess co. Mo. It's said that both Andrew and Sarah were blind or nearly so in their older days, although I have yet to see a census report showing either one of them as blind (in fact, Andrew was a rather prosperous farmer in his day).

There's also somebody who claims that Andrew married 26 Feb 1845 Woodstock, McHenry co. Illinois Sarah Ann Sponer, d/o Isaac & Anna A. Perry Sponer, b. 26 Oct 1820 Woodstock, Ill., and they had 10 children. It certainly isn't this Andrew, but that bad info is out there.

Andrew and Sarah had 2 children:

Nancy Ann- b. 1849/50 (30 May 1849?) Dewitt co. Ill. d. Dec 1866 Daviess co. Missouri m. 22 Mar 1864 Daviess co. Mo. James Land s/o William Enos & Elizabeth B. Glenn Land b. 5 Apr 1842 Iowa; they had one child:

Nancy Ann- b. Dec 1866 Daviess co. Mo. d. after 1930, living in Denver, Colorado m. 31 Dec 1885 Daviess co. Mo. William Andrew Scott s/o William Liddell (II) & Drucilla Cox Scott b. 22 Apr 1860 Dewitt co. Ill. d. 5 Nov 1929 Dewitt co. Ill. William's obituary stated they lived in Denver, Colorado from about 1886 until shortly before William Andrew's death, but in fact they lived in Daviess co. Mo. until around 1906/7 when they moved to Hayes co. Nebraska, and lived there until at least 1920 before moving to Denver. 7 children, 2 died young.

Mary Jane- b. 1852 (12 Aug 1852?) Dewitt co. Ill. d. 7 Feb 1915 Norton co. Kansas (pneumonia) m. 28 Aug 1913 Caldwell, Canyon co. Idaho John Peter Glenn s/o James William & Mildred Murphy Glenn b. 27 Nov 1840 Jefferson co. Iowa d. 28 Jan 1915 Norton, Norton co. Kansas (of pneumonia). John was m/1 to Barbara Ann Cassiday and m/2 to Matilda Mary Scott, d/o William Liddell & Nancy Scott. I have not been able to find Mary in the 1900 census. John served in the Civil War, Co. B, 8th Iowa Cavalry, enlisted 26 Jun 1863, and was discharged 14 Aug 1865, while living in Wymore, Gage county Nebraska.
