July 1844 Harrison co. Missouri d. 16 Nov 1931 National Military
Home, Leavenworth co. Kansas (broken hip), buried Leavenworth National
Cemetery. Francis fought in the Civil War, Co. D, 1st Colorado Infantry,
had enlisted 31 Oct 1861 at Denver, Colorado, and deserted on 16 May 1864,
but under “cause of discharge”, his paperwork cites “end of war”.
12 children, at least 6 died young and were buried in Old Scotland Cemetery,
Daviess co. Mo.; only 5 of their children were alive in 1900.
